Impact of obesity on the increasing incidence of type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) represents ~10% of all cases o0f diabetes mellitus. T1D is recognized to be an autoimmune-mediated disease leading to destruction of insulin-production b (BETA) cells. This disease occurs mostly during childhood/adolescence, and there has been an increase in the incidence of the disease in eaerly life.
